Walt Disney World Mid-Day Magic Ticket Worth It

Walt Disney World Mid-Day Magic Ticket Worth It

While there are a variety of methods to save on Walt Disney World tickets (including our partner Get Away Today), up until now sleeping in hasn’t been one of them. That is all about to change though, at least for this year as Walt Disney World has introduced a new “Mid-Day Magic Ticket”. Let’s take a look.

New Mid-Day Magic Ticket

The new Walt Disney World Mid-Day Magic Ticket is very much like what it sounds. Show up after Noon and you can enjoy reduced cost admission into the parks. The Mid-Day Magic Ticket comes with both single park per day and park hopper options. Here is how Disney describes it.

“Enjoy admission to one theme park per day, after 12:00 PM. Choose from 4 amazing theme parks— Magic Kingdom park, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom park.”

Mid-Day Magic Ticket Prices

One of the reasons people may want to consider the new Mid-Day Magic Ticket is the reduced prices. Here are the prices for the new Walt Disney World Mid-Day Magic Ticket. Keep in mind the price will vary depending on the date you will first use the ticket.

Mid-Day Magic Ticket without Park Hopper

  • 2 days from $81 per day
  • 3 days from $78 per day
  • 4 days from $74 per day

Mid-Day Magic Ticket with Park Hopper

  • 2 days from $116 per day
  • 3 days from $101 per day
  • 4 days from $94 per day

Need to Know

  • Valid for admission after 12:00 PM
  • Ticket not valid for admission to morning Extra Magic Hours
  • Disney FastPass+ selections before 12:00 PM will not be valid with this ticket

Disney Hacks Analysis

To compare prices I chose a random date in September so we could see just how much sleeping in and showing up at Noon will save you. I chose 4 day tickets and I’ll compare both the park hopper and non-park hopper options.

Without Park Hopper

  • 4 Day Ticket (No Park Hopper) – $400.22
  • 4 Day Mid-Day Magic Ticket (No Park Hopper) – $293.01

With Park Hopper

  • 4 Day Ticket (Park Hopper) – $480.22
  • 4 Day Mid-Day Magic Ticket (Park Hopper) – $373.01

As you can see, this new option is attractive since it does save actual money. Without Park Hopper you are saving about 27% over the unrestricted ticket while you still save almost 24% with Park Hopper. Either way this could be a substantial savings for families that don’t like to rope drop.

Who Is The Mid-Day Magic Ticket Good For?

As someone from the West Coast I could see my family utilizing these tickets. We often don’t get up early due to the time zone changes and we are the kind of family that doesn’t leave for breaks all that often. I could definitely see us in certain circumstances planning our mornings around this and just showing up in the afternoon to close down the park. Of course that is easier said than done in the Summer where the heat can be brutal.

Is the Walt Disney World Mid-Day Magic Ticket Worth It – Bottom Line

I really think the new Walt Disney World Mid-Day Magic Ticket can be a great value for families that aren’t early to rise. I know that describes us on Walt Disney World vacations and I will definitely consider this on future trips if I need tickets and my sleep as well.
